It’s not so bad. No one really believes it, so I guess I can’t complain too much. Thirty was actually much more difficult to face. I fell into the same trap many do. You have this list of things you want to accomplish before you’re 30, consciously or unconsciously. Well I had the husband. I had the house shortly thereafter. I am now free of both. Instead of kiddies, I have kitties (a cosmic joke turned me into a cat lady…or cat woman as I prefer to be called). No one considers calling the humane society if I leave them alone, so, another WIN for me.

What I’ve learned so far is that we play the cards we are dealt. Some people have crappier hands than others. It doesn’t matter who the dealer was. It only matters what you do with the hand. You always have choices. You can play it out and lose. You can play and bluff your way to a win. You can fold and save your money to play another hand. You can fold and go play at another table. It’s your hand. Play it however you see fit, but play it. Don’t blame others for your bad cards. Don’t scream and cry and demand a re-deal. Don’t try to get the other players to turn against the dealer. Don’t go to a higher power and try to get the players and dealers shuffled to your advantage. Just play, learn, and play better next time.

Of course that’s not all I’ve learned, but that’s all I have time for now. Time for bed. Even if Spider-Man is on.

Oh…and it’s still Rumspringa!

Truly a mind-blowing concept! I must see this movie.

Would I get a timer? I don’t think so. I don’t think I would ever trust it.

Would it show negative time? That is, would it tell you if you had already met your soul-mate, but he/she is long since gone from your life?

Does the timer take into consideration that everyone has a different idea of what a soul-mate is? What if you believe your soul-mate should be the lover you spend the rest of your life with but it turns out to be “just” a life-long best friend? Would you have passed on some really great relationships due to the misunderstanding?

What about beliefs about past lives? What if you weren’t meant to meet your soul-mate in this lifetime? Would you feel you were robbed if it never showed a time? Would you be questioning whether or not it was faulty your whole life, and whether you had missed him/her? Or what if you were meant to meet your soul-mate, but weren’t meant to spend the rest of your lives together? Meant To Be isn’t necessarily Meant To Be Forever. Would the timer count down to zero when you met this person but go blank again when they passed from your life, or would you be looking at those zeros for the rest of your life?

USA! USA!

What’s going on with me? Busy. Busy. Busy. I am rarely home anymore, and haven’t had much time to blog. I find myself enjoying  a rare day on my couch. Enjoying everything except that the reason I’m on the couch is that I am sick. Just a little cold, but I’m taking the rest while I can.

Tonight we were going to make souvlaki but we couldn’t find lamb. We got some take and bake chicken from Fresh & Easy instead. The potatoes wouldn’t bake though so we ended up taking them out of the oven, cutting them up, and frying them. And then the chicken took twice as long to bake as it should have. I suspect my oven isn’t what it should be.

After Home Depot we went to Target to get “a vase.” This trip resulted in E-Fabulous and I attempting to hang curtains in my bedroom. On two occasions when I thought I would cry E-Fabulous said something like “Yea! She has a hole!” or, “See? Who needs a man when you have power tools!”  Thanks Fabulous!
