Wow, has it really been since Halloween? I just don’t have time to do anything anymore. But today is not about complaints, it’s about being thankful. This year, I’m thankful to be employed. Not just employed, but employed by a fantastic company. I’m thankful for the new friends I’ve made, my teammates. I’m having a lot of fun with them. I’m feeling alive again.

Don’t get me wrong. Life after divorce has been great, but there were certain areas that I shut off. I’d joke about being dead inside, but it was sorta true. I don’t want to live like that anymore. Thanks for reminding me I’m awesome, and that I deserve to live life.

As always, I’m thankful for family. I’m alone here in AZ, yet I know you’re all there for me. I love your emails, your texts, your participation in the family website, and that you ask Mom about me. I love you.

Halloween is a bittersweet time for me in recent years. Once the happiest of holidays for me, it’s now also a reminder of a past life, an alternate reality, a would-have-been. Maybe that’s what’s behind my recent behavior. Those of you at happy hour the past two weeks know to what I am referring. Discretion, please. If any of that ends up on YouTube, you’re in so much trouble! Oh and thank you for being there for me.

NaNoWriMo 2009 is upon us. I will do it, but I can tell you I will not finish. I have too much going on this month between moving (new apartment, yea!), a short trip back home, and other fun stuff, I won’t have much time for that kind of writing. Just getting back in the habit of writing will be accomplisment enough this NaNoWriMo. Have a great time, WriMos!

It’s been a fabulous week for my family. Yesterday we welcomed the arrival of Owen Ryker Garvey, son of my cousin Ben Garvey and his lovely wife, Jeanne. Today we officially welcome Fitz to the family as he marries another cousin of mine, Kelly Q. We have our ups and downs, but when we’re up, we’re really up. Congratulations to the Garveys, Haleys, and Andersons! I have much love for you.

I feel like I have known you for years. Our mutual friend, Patty, has been telling me about your adventures in college for almost as long as I’ve known her. I have long admired the important work you did in the state of Washington. Imagine our surprise when we found out about your new vocation! I had of course already heard about Dazzled By Twilight, but I had know way of knowing that Patty’s Annette and Dazzled’s Annette were one in the same!

It sounds like you and I discovered Twilight around the same time. I can assure you I’m just as devoted a fan even though I’m not quite as out there in the public eye as you are. I have a semi-anonymous Twilight blog, but I don’t do a podcast or run a store devoted to Twilight or anything. Speaking of that, I thought about sending you my resume when I lost my job in January, but then I realized I wasn’t quite ready for that kind of move. Consider me for any locations in Phoenix though. I’d be happy to represent for Bella’s home town.

You’re probably still wondering who I am. I am the one who sent those girls into your store to meet you today. My friend E and her friend M are in Forks for Bella’s Birthday festivities. I sent them with my very own Twilight scavenger hunt, which I hear you took a look at. One of the items on the list was to get a picture with you. E called me from your store today to let me know she’d just met you. I can’t wait for Patty to see the picture. I meant for it to be a surprise, but now I wish I’d talked to her first. She said you would have gotten a kick out of helping them find a Statue of Liberty paperweight.

It’s past my bedtime so I’ll close with a big Happy Birthday To You! Sharing Bella’s birthday is pretty much like being born on the 4th of July for a Twilighter, I imagine. Fireworks and parades and whatnot. Cool. I do know you’ll probably be working hard so I hope you get some time to enjoy the festivities. The more things change the more things stay the same. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs lately, as you can tell by previous posts. I went permanent at work (yea for no more probation!), but there has been some drama too. Thank goodness for my blog stats. I know that life goes on when I see people are still fascinated with Luke Grimes.

I’ve been thinking about it for a long time I suppose. He knows I’ve thought about it on and off since the beginning. Lately I’ve been really unhappy in the relationship though. It’s not anything that he did or didn’t do; it had just lost something. Or maybe I’ve started needing something that our relationship just never had. I think that’s more likely, considering how we got together. Whatever it is, I’m following my gut on this. I wouldn’t have said anything for a while, wanting to be sure, but when it came up on Friday I found myself saying that I wanted to end the relationship. So Old Man Bobby and I have parted as dear friends, family even, in hopes that we can each find happiness. On to new beginnings for us both.

Things are not right. I’m in the doldrums. There is no wind in my sails. Old Man Bobby and I had been talking about moving in together. Tonight I told him I just can’t do it. Whether it’s fear of commitment, hormones, or what…I just can’t. It makes me sad. It makes me wonder.

And to top it all off the word that Rajko was certain he invented already exists. Sorry, Rajko, I was rooting for you.
