This is why I care about Puppy Doe. While it was the sad photo of adorable Kiya, with her injuries and infected leg, that caught my eye, it has been the statements of Dr. Martha-Smith Blackmore that have kept me coming back to this case. This is the doctor who completed the necropsy, confirmed the age, and level of abuse Kiya suffered.
There were many critics out there saying they didn’t even try to save Kiya. I was certain from the original reports I read that they did the right thing. Having now read the necropsy report, I am relieved for Kiya. They did the right thing in putting her out of her misery as soon as possible.
The Examiner has described the necropsy here. If you would like all the graphic details, follow the link The Examiner provided. Be warned. It is a horrific report.
All of this leads up to why I care. Of course I care about Kiya. She was beautiful, and reported to be sweet. Pitties are my favorite dogs. No living creature deserves the treatment Kiya got. That it was an animal so near and dear to my heart, saddens me further.
My real concern is the extent of her injuries, and how she was discarded.
The person who tortured Kiya was able to do horrifying things to her and still keep her alive. Kiya’s nostrils were burned. Her eyes were stabbed. Her tongue was split. Her bones were broken. Her joints were drawn. They were not just dislocated. They were drawn, a medieval torture method. These injuries prevented Kiya from walking again. She laid in her own urine, accumulating pressure sores. Her head was misshapen from the blows she received. Fragments of bone trapped in her soft tissue formed protective calluses around them.
All of these injuries were not sustained at once. They were all found to be in various stages of healing. So, Kiya, for an as yet undetermined number of months received a steady stream of torture.
Forgive me for asking, but why not just kill her? Someone who does these sort of things, clearly gets some sort of pleasure from it. Dr. Martha-Smith Blackmore states Kiya is unlikely the torturer’s first victim. Why not just kill her when you’re done with her and dispose of her? Why leave her alive and completely ruined, in a public place. She was left on the side of a road near a park. It was a certainty that she would be found.
Here are my thoughts on that, based on nothing but my Hollywood-level education in criminal profiling.
It is a cry for help. Disgusted by what he (most likely) has done, he left Kiya in the open. His survival instinct tells him to hide. His guilt tells him to confess. So he leaves the biggest clue he can as a compromise.
It is arrogance. He has been at it for a while and no one has noticed. He has been practicing on animals and not getting caught. He wants everyone to know how masterful he is. Knowing he won’t be a suspect, he wants to see his handiwork on the news.
It is a Coming Out. He has now perfected his method. He can do horrible things over an extended period of time, without killing his victim. He is done with animals. Discarding Kiya publicly was his Graduation Day.
I am well aware that all of my scenarios sound like serial killer behavior. Honestly, I can see no other path. This isn’t run of the mill animal abuse. He didn’t just slap her around, or lock her in a closet, or kick her down the stairs. He didn’t even fight her or use her to bait fighting dogs. He straight up tortured her. I don’t know of anyone who does that other than serial killers in training.
But he didn’t kill Kiya, and that is what troubles me most. If the torturer is caught now he will get a maximum of: 5 years in prison, a $2500 fine, and never being allowed to come in contact with animals again.
If he is done with animals, and moving on to humans, as is the usual progression, what next? Crappy sentence aside, I hope he is caught before he can hurt anything or anyone else. I just want to make that clear, because this next part is a doozy.
If he does the same thing to humans as he did to Kiya, we will view him as a serial killer but he will not be killing. Some morning a girl is found on the side of a road. She is emaciated and brutalized, but alive. She will of course be rushed to the hospital where heroic measures will be used to save her life because we don’t euthanize people.
Surgeries will be required to repair the severe damage done to her. They will be done because it’s the right thing to do, and because letting 2 or more people die so we can label him a serial killer is unthinkable. That is what he would be forcing the good doctors and nurses to do: save him from officially being a serial killer.
What would the punishment be if he were caught after torturing a person? What would the charges even be?
It is the stuff of gruesome fiction, yet it seems it could be happening right now in Boston.
September 30, 2013 at 1:17 pm
You have nit the nail on the head here. I’ve been saying the exact same thing since this happened. I’m a Criminal Justice major and this case fits a specific, scarey and disturbing profile. People should take this very seriously. As an aside, I’m troubled by the article written by Margery Eagan of the Boston Herald, who called the people who came out to the vigil “nutty.” You would think this case would make someone like Margery (who I hear is not an animal lover and especially not a pit-bull lover) at least have compassion for the torture of a live, breathing, feeling creature – but no. Point is – some people just don’t get it.
September 30, 2013 at 1:21 pm
I didn’t read that article but I did see some of the comments about it. I gathered that she was less than kind to the vigil-goers. It’s unfortunate that she stooped to name calling. A very disappointing quality for a journalist to have.
October 17, 2013 at 2:48 pm
I think you’ve pretty much summed it up; however, I’d like to add that I think the reason he didn’t kill her is because killing is not what he is after- it’s the “thrill” of the torture. Surely by the time she was”used up” she probably didn;t even react anymore–no cries of pain, no twists of torment–she was just a rack of beaten bones and skin who was too numb to react. Seeing no reaction, he dumped her. I agree he wanted her to be found. Hopefully he will be found soon, as I am certain he is torturing as I write this…
October 18, 2013 at 2:52 am
I have read the article and I don’t recall name calling, besides a future/wanna-be serial killer. The vets and psychologists on the case have determined the same thing; that this abuser will most likely turn to humans & serial killing.
Please before commenting on an article, READ IT!!!
October 3, 2013 at 11:41 am
I’d love to help anyway I can
October 3, 2013 at 11:43 am
I agree, nail on the head here. This person most definitely is a psychopathic serial killer waiting for a place to land! This is one very sick, disturbed individual and he WILL move onto humans, when animals are no longer exciting for him.
October 17, 2013 at 5:59 am
The facebook page is “Justice for Puppy Doe” They are now selling T-shirts to help fund the effort. You can also organize and hold vigils, they will help with it and share the vigil on facebook. Note: the pictures are sooo very sad, it is heartbreaking. There is also a petition you can sign. Thank you for your help. This person is a monster as is the person who brutally, sexually abuse a dog and left it near a church to bleed out…last week. This has to be stopped.
October 3, 2013 at 1:05 pm
Christa, I think you are spot-on with this story. The way this sadist used ritualistic & extreme tortures over a period of time proves that he has done this before, perhaps many, many times. He could have easily disposed of her but he left her alive & in a very public place because he wanted her to be found, he was basically daring someone to catch him, and since it was near a playground, I believe he is sadistic enough to have wanted a child to find her. This soul-less individual (I will not deign to call him human) is a waste to society, will only continue to mentally decline and become worse, and if there was ever a call for abortion, it’s a shame his mother hadn’t done it years ago. He does not deserve to live, he’s a psychopath, and being caught and jailed is too good for him. He needs to be eliminated because if he isn’t, he will (if he hasn’t already) begin torturing & killing children or women. He is as psycho as any Boston Strangler or Charles Manson. I pray that he is caught and I pray that someone kills him before he even has a chance to make it to jail. Because, like you said, with the animal abuse laws as lax as they are, by the time he would go to trial, he would only get 5 years & they’d go for a plea bargain & drop some of the charges, and he would get credit for time served. This has to stop. Laws have to be changed. These psychos have to be eliminated. I would love to see an anonymous vigilante group that would be waiting for him to be caught & then destroy him. And while it is not Christian to say, I can’t help but say it, I hope he rots and burns in the deepest, darkest part of Hell for eternity. He deserves no less.
October 3, 2013 at 3:13 pm
It’s such a relief that I’m not the only one who is thinking ahead on this case.
October 16, 2013 at 2:15 pm
Yes, I totally agree with you. I will never ever get over puppy doe never! Please God, hear our prayers and catch the monster! Let us keep the fight and keep our voices loud and clear..let the world know that we never forget puppy doe or rest until that monster is caught!
October 16, 2013 at 12:08 pm
Christa, have you had this article published anywhere in the mainstream media??? This is an EXCELLENT article. You have hit the evil nail on its head. If you have not circulated this article more widely to date, I would certainly encourage you to do so….Please for the sake of Puppy Doe. There is also a movement to get Ellen DeGeneras to air a piece about this crime and give it greater media and momentum to ensure we can get justice for Puppy Doe and create a lasting movement of change for animal welfare in Puppy Doe’s honor. Would you consider sending this article directly to the Ellen show in support of the plea of many individuals and Change.org. I think the legislators all over this country should also see this. I will help you in any way I can…just ask. My heart aches in every moment for that beautiful, innocent, loving and sweet girl . Every time I feed my own pets and know they have full belles – my heart aches for her empty belly. Every time I hug and kiss my pets and keep them safe – my heart aches for her longing to be saved and loved. I simply cannot bear the pain. I am willing to help in any way I can. In any case, your poignant and intelligent article should be read by this country. Thank you for your powerful insight.
October 16, 2013 at 1:03 pm
Wow. Thank you so much for the compliments!
I did not know about the attempt to get this story on Ellen. Thank you for that, too. I’m happy to share my article. If you have any info so that I can send it to the right place, please let me know.
October 16, 2013 at 1:12 pm
Yes, Christa…I do have ideas and information. Are you a resident of Massachusetts? If so, I would send that article to every single legislator on Beacon Hill. Senator Bruce Tarr has proposed the PAWS ACT to strengthen existing animal protection laws in MA and set up a Commission to propose further changes. This law could and should be used as a model piece of legislation for other states. I will get you the website where you can find all of the names of the legislators, mailing addresses, email addresses and phone numbers. Let me find that web address and get it to you. I have several other ideas…is there a regular email address we could use to communicate possibly?? if not…no worries. Okay…I will get the address to you and further thoughts.
October 16, 2013 at 1:15 pm
I am in AZ. If you are in MA, feel free to send my article to your legislators.
October 16, 2013 at 1:16 pm
Christa, go to http://www.malegislature.gov you will find all the contact info.
Secondly, I think you should reach out to the Ellen show with this letter making reference to the movement seeking justice for Puppy Doe in Massachusetts. I can help you get the contact info for that as well.
October 16, 2013 at 1:19 pm
Okay, I will send it to the MA Legislators – I think this should go to all the states with a copy of the model law.
Do you mind if I ask – how old you are and what you do for a living? I hope you are a writer!
I have more ideas…
October 16, 2013 at 1:20 pm
LOL I’m 42, and would love to write professionally!
October 16, 2013 at 1:27 pm
You must also have a back ground in psychology because you really got this case better than most people. In any case, I would be happy to circulate to MA government…but I think I would need maybe a little biography of you to attach so that it carries some weight and so they can see that you endorse me passing on your work.
I think your insight would be helpful in getting the Ellen show to air the story. I will find the contact info.
There is also a vigil being held for Puppy Doe in NYC and I am thinking your article should be circulated there as well. But, I think it needs your full name and profession, etc…so you see what I mean.
I think the Boston Globe and The Boston Herald and other major MA newspapers may publish this…let me get some contact info for that.
This may take a few days to finalize a plan…but would be great if you are open to it. Thank you.
October 16, 2013 at 1:31 pm
I have been told I should have been a psychologist.
You know, I think I might have an idea for circulating this more widely. Let me check into that.
October 17, 2013 at 2:57 pm
Christa, great the article was on the FB page. I know we addressed this yesterday…was it circulated to MA Legislature after all?
October 17, 2013 at 3:14 pm
I don’t know if it was circulated to MA legislators. I do not live in MA so I don’t think they’ll pay attention to me.
October 16, 2013 at 1:06 pm
Christa,
What a great article you have written, I posted on the fb “Justice for Puppy Doe/Kiya page. I feel as you do about the monster that did this to this poor puppy. Puppy Doe’s story is beyond abuse, we are still praying for justice!
October 16, 2013 at 1:07 pm
Thank you!
October 16, 2013 at 2:18 pm
Every one, never give up and keep it always in the news until this monster is caught! Please !!! Write to the Quincy police chief often! Never let it become a cold case!
October 17, 2013 at 6:00 am
I too agree with Everything u said. I sent a plee to Oprah. Someone is harboring this beast, thinking its only a dog. That’s my son and I won’t turn him in. But he used her to hide the screams, to master a technique, to get his name in the media. This story is about puppy doe but more about our friends, our wives, our children. I AM afraid. There is a devil lurching.
October 17, 2013 at 6:08 am
Kudos dear, Very well thought out and written. All your assumptions are spot on. We need to make sure as other posters have stated keep this going for again last week a second dog was left at a church, was barely alive because it was sexually abused and bled out. We have to stop all these monsters.
October 17, 2013 at 6:49 am
Because we care about her and she did not desever to be toutered the way she was to now is not alive and this shit happen all over the world to,And farm animal’s are treated bad to by ppl as well,NO ANIMAL should be abused at all
October 17, 2013 at 6:57 am
I so enjoyed & agreed with your article. I am an ultimate animal lover & am so baffled as to how someone could perform this torturous act & still has not been caught. There must be someone out there who has an inkling as to whom this person is (they are then just as guilty).
When his day in court does come, perhaps it would be a good idea to enlighten the prisoners as to what he did. Most prisoners are animal lovers – there are even programs in prison where convicts work with dogs & to see the love between convict & canine is beautiful. Hopefully these cons will take care of him the way they take care of a child molester. One good thing is that he will be serving time in the Mass prisons. For the most part, they are not nice – he wouldn’t last long.
I would like to help in any way I can to tighten up the laws involving animal abuse. I live in Western MA, where MA, VT & NH meet. As a matter of fact, there was a story on our news of a poodle, left ematiated, wrapped in a blanket, inside a trash bag, in a trash can, left to die. Some good person found the dog & he/she has been saved!!!
Please feel free to contact me – Judi Webster – 413-512-1791 – dobiegirl1@msn.com
Thank you, again, for your wonderful article!!!
October 17, 2013 at 7:21 am
She is every ones dog. The monster who did this to her must be caught and brought to justice. We have to have stronger laws on the books. The horrific act’s committed show a sick twisted mind, a person with no soul. They will continue to abuse and move on from animals to children. Puppy Doe suffering and torment must never be forgotten. We mourn a life taken by a heartless monster. I want her sweet face to stand for justice and the love of good people who serve to help show compassion and who’s efforts saved more lives then we lost. Keep on fighting the good fight!
October 17, 2013 at 7:21 am
Great article, Christa. I agree with everything you say. It’s a pity animal loving celebrities haven’t come out on this. We need their high profile to spread the word as far as possible. I’ve FB messaged Cesar Millan and Oprah Winfrey and although I don’t hold out that much hope of a response, I was compelled to at least do something. The horrific abuse suffered by that innocent baby has haunted me day and night.
Justice must prevail and we must never give up the fight.
October 17, 2013 at 7:34 am
Christa has put the situation before us in all it’s terrifying gruesomeness .
No effort should be spared to find the perpetrator(s) and render them permanently harmless . I fear that respectability may be the cloak this monster hides behind .
The tragic story of poor baby Doe must be in the public eye constantly
October 17, 2013 at 7:55 am
Somehow, I think there was someone else who was on the scene, so to speak and it was that person who removed Kiya and placed her where she would be found and perhaps treated. The monster who did this to a living being would not have the concerns a normal person might have, if that person could be located.
October 17, 2013 at 1:33 pm
ditto
October 17, 2013 at 7:56 am
I agree. This was just a step in their progression. If they aren’t stopped by taking this seriously, children could be next. It is very serious. Don’t let this go, because people say it’s just a dog. It lived breathed and felt emotions, which this person wanted to see. The pain. Don’t turn away, don’t stop helping. This person could cause copy cats as well if they get away with it!
October 17, 2013 at 7:57 am
I am an animal lover and would do anything for them….This world is full of sickos that don’t belong here, they should be tourtured just like what they did and get a taste of how it feels in return then suffer!!! The world would be a better place if only animals were here…
October 17, 2013 at 8:27 am
Christa,
You are the best! Your article “Why I care for Puppy Doe” that I posted on our Justice for Puppy Doe fb page already has 437 likes. Your article must be shared by everyone that reads it. if at some point you do a follow up article please post it on the Justice for Puppy Doe page. I/we would love to see more writing from you. Thank you Susan
October 17, 2013 at 8:50 am
I noticed that she was called Sweet Pea several times on the FB page. Did I miss some big news? Was it confirmed this she was not Kiya?
October 17, 2013 at 12:11 pm
This was info from a friend of mine. The woman who picked her up in Quincy was apparently very kind; thought she’d been hit by a car and was willing to pay any veterinary expenses. She even thought she would adopt her and call her Sweet Pea if the owners never came forward. Of course, she was devastated by what actually happened.
October 17, 2013 at 12:49 pm
Oh yes. I remember that now. Thank you for the reminder about “Sweet Pea”.
October 17, 2013 at 8:28 am
Hi Christa, I am a writer and loved everything you said. I can’t bring myself to read Kiya’s necropsy report. It’s bad enough seeing her photos. I can’t get over this story – and you have brought all the reasons why Kiya’s death is so horrifying.
October 17, 2013 at 8:49 am
I know I have asked the same questions. ” Why did they keep her alive?” Why not dispose of her in the woods?” .This article has shed some insight for me. She has not gone thru this in vain. That is the most comforting thing that comes from this right now.
Thank you for writing & caring.
October 17, 2013 at 8:49 am
Excellent article, I am thinking the same, does not make sense to dump the poor dog in a public place unless one is too arrogant or wants to be caught. I just cannot go over this case, I constantly check for updates and tears fill my eyes when I think of the broken appearance of Kiya, the desperation and sadness in her eyes. I am upset because this case is not resolved yet. Maybe the detectives are not good. Why does it take so long when it should be a following on the ownership of the dog? If the last known owner does not tell who Kiya was given to then it is on him/her. The story of the original owner should be rechecked as well. We do not know for how long Kiya was tortured so can it go back to the time she had Kiya? Her story was that updates were received from the woman in Grafton until July, however the injuries were not inflicted only during July/August, so something does not match.
October 17, 2013 at 10:07 am
I absolutely agree. I have had people make comments when I share this story on FB, like, what about all the millions of babies aborted daily? Ya know, I post about that too. But, here is the thing, yes, babies are being aborted, and while gruesome, it remains at the same stage and does not progress. This person, sadist, is going to progress, and what you have written about is exactly what is going to happen. And everyone will say, why didn’t we do something about this before (he/she) progressed to people? Sick, but true. Thank you for taking the time to explain this so graphically so that, hopefully, people will take the time to read it and understand. It isn’t that animals are MORE important than people, they are EQUALLY important bc one day, it WILL be a person, not an animal. Which, scientifically classified, we are as well, because we certainly are not plant life.
October 17, 2013 at 12:06 pm
Dear girl , it is a natural thing to be in complete horror over the events that lead to the death of such an innocent creature as Kiya.. Words can hardly describe how we feel .. God himself gave us all the animals that we are to also protect.. Kiyas story evokes not only a feeling of helplessness but one of failure on all of us .. As a man we are given the duty to protect women and children from evil.. It would never matter that she was a dog to us … Here is what helps me to endure such horrors.. God had it written that he will exact revenge when He is ready .. That day is closer than any realize from the simple fact that He also wrote of what these last days would be like.. That alone should tell you that He is more than aware how bad its become.. Things like this are going to happen , but only for a short while longer.. After that day comes there will no longer be any monsters forever .. That is His promise . Weather we catch monsters like this or not has no bearing on anything for all will be put right.. Kiya will be back along will all others .. All the monsters have done was for nothing except cause their deaths forever.. That will be their punishment.. In the meantime take heart that all will be put right ….
October 17, 2013 at 1:14 pm
That thought, that this sicko will continue to do these horrific things
To animals and when that is not enough he will start on humans,
probably either babies or young children, someone who will not be
Missed or that no adult cares about. He/ she/ it needs to be caught,
as soon as possible, and if nothing else, put down like the monster it
is.
October 17, 2013 at 4:39 pm
great article and I agree with an earlier comment that another person dropped Kyia at the park. A person who knows the perpetrator of the crime.
October 17, 2013 at 6:34 pm
I think it should be sent to the FBI field office in Boston. This is definitely a serial killer, if not now, in the making. Very disturbing.
October 17, 2013 at 6:39 pm
I’m sure the FBI is well aware. They won’t be able to step in until something happens that is under their jurisdiction.
October 17, 2013 at 8:04 pm
yes, all will be put right by people standing up and saying we will not accept this violence in society. lots of people. can’t sit back and wait for higher powers. each and every one of us, we gotta stand up.
October 17, 2013 at 8:39 pm
This psycho will be found, but probably not until he kills a child or beats up a woman. Then we’ll find out that he’s the same sicko who tortured Kiya. I too wondered why he/she kept her alive and then left her in a public place. My first thought was that it was meant to be a message sent to someone– we all have heard of domestic violence where pets are tortured, mutilated, killed in revenge against the one who jilted them. This was all too “personal” for it to be just another case of animal abuse to which we’re all subjected daily. This was pure evil, measured and premeditated to cause unspeakable suffering without the mercy of death. Starvation alone would have been enough to kill her; the monster probably gave her just enough crumbs to keep her alive and suffering.
My second thought was that a woman did this, except for the force required to “draw” the joints; according to the vet it would have taken tremendous strength to do that. But a woman force fed two German Shepherds metal objects–clamps, metal shards, caps of pens, anything and everything that could not be digested–over a period of days in revenge against her boyfriend who owned the dogs. Her “defense” was that he paid more attention to the dogs than to her. It took days for one to die; the other was in critical condition. Same thing for the actor in NYC who beat his girlfriend’s cat to death, claiming she showed more affection to the cat than to him.
But this…this is torture at a whole different level. It was a crime of domination, much like rape is not a sex crime, but a crime of power. This wasn’t just animal cruelty, it was a punishment not only of the animal but maybe the one who loved her? Kiya’s original owner said she gave her to a “wonderful woman.” Maybe it was a wonderful woman with a not so wonderful boyfriend. Remember the original owner’s anguish when learning of Kiya’s fate? Where was the anguish of the “wonderful woman” who supposedly adopted her? This monster is being protected, but by whom? If $18,000 reward money isn’t enough to smoke out an informant, then this is some kind of domestic violence scenario where someone knows exactly who did this and is protecting not only the monster but possibly herself. IMO.
October 18, 2013 at 4:12 pm
Christa,
I just saw this on the “Justice for Puppy Doe” Facebook page. Your assessment of this monster is astoundingly accurate. Many of those same thoughts have gone through my mind, but unfortunately, I have nowhere near the writing talent that you do.
I think everyone in the free world should read your blog, especially those who draft animal-welfare legislation. I also posted a link to this editorial on the Rainbow Bridge memorial I made for Puppy Doe; I hope you don’t mind.
Like everyone else who has read about this poor soul, I am struggling with a lot of emotions right now. At first, I thought this was the work of some illiterate, knuckle-dragging turd. But then, as Ms. Joanna pointed out in an earlier reply, I believe that this is probably an educated, respected, normal-looking turd. Someone’s neighbor, father, employer, friend, etc.
This is probably the worst case of animal abuse I have ever read, and I can only hope that someone comes forward with information to help those in law enforcement do their jobs.
Thanks again for such a well-written piece.
October 18, 2013 at 4:16 pm
Nope, I don’t mind the link at all.
“…probably an educated, respected, normal-looking turd. ” Kathy, I think you underestimate your writing ability. lol
October 19, 2013 at 8:24 am
Gosh, thanks!
October 27, 2013 at 8:55 am
I have been in the legal field for over 30 years. The people charged with crimes do not have monster faces in fact most are pretty likable if you didn’t know what they did. In all these years, were they really sorry , no, just sorry to be caught and sorry that their veil of privacy has been lifted. Just like Ariel Castro who attended the vigil for the girls he held captive. He left his calling card with Kiya, he is around watching, maybe even joining in, just like an arsonist who sets the fire and watches. Look around people is his here and he is not crying out for help , he is sharing what he can do. Most criminals stay pretty local, dumping her in an area familiar and comfortable to them
October 27, 2013 at 9:08 am
Thank you so much for this comment, Susan. It may have inspired a new article.
October 27, 2013 at 11:28 am
Read “The Sociopath Next Door” by Martha Stout. I work in the area of animal abusing veterinarians (you cannot imagine the atrocities some of these monsters commit while smiling at you straight in the face) and she nails this very subject. Some of them hide in plain sight, almost daring the authorities to catch them . Like the investigator who handled the case against the vet who killed my cat said, “it was a game to him.” Looking back all the signs were there, and my interview of one of his former co-workers revealed a horrific history. So yes, these monsters are everywhere, often in the unlikeliest of places, and they look just like the rest of us. Nannies, babysitters, the clergy, teachers, coaches–all blending in quite nicely until their own “Puppy Doe” comes along to expose them like never before.
October 27, 2013 at 11:42 am
Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry about your cat!
October 27, 2013 at 3:35 pm
Thank you. Suki was my sweetheart, my once in a lifetime cat. And there are countless more. I hope it’s a subject you can cover one day on your blog. You’re an excellent writer and obviously have a heart for animals. Keep up the good work.
