I didn’t always like Michael. I mean there were so many ugly reports about him, it was hard to explain them all away. In general, though, I did like his music. And you really can’t deny how he left his mark on the music world, specifically on videos as an art form, rather than just a commercial for a song. My heart goes out to his fans, friends, and family. He will be missed.

While this may be in poor taste, I have to write this in hopes that getting it off my chest will help me to stop thinking about it. I keep thinking of Michael in his Thriller make-up. Super creepy now.

The other day Old Man Bobby and I were listening to some Sketching in Stereo and talking about our buddies from the band. I was shocked to find that Rob had been hit by a cab in NYC. I didn’t even know Rob was in NYC! Old Man Bobby promised Rob was OK, and went on to ask if Charlie’s troubles were over. Neither of us knew. (We’re thinking of you Chaaaarrrlieee!)

Imagine my surprise when the very next day I read on Letters to Twilight that Robert Pattinson had been hit by a NYC cab. What a coinci–! My thought process went something like this: “Son of a bitch! Old Man Bobby let me go on and on about Rockstar Rob and didn’t tell me he was talking about RPattz! How embarrassing! I’m glad it was just us in the car.”

So later I told him I had a bone to pick. The use of the word Bone always gets his attention, naturally. When he caught on to my tone he got a little nervous. I chastised him for letting me go on and on about Rockstar Rob like that. He had no idea what I was talking about. I reminded him we had been talking about Sketching in Stereo, then he told me about Rob, and then we started talking about Charlie, and I asked him what part of that conversation was supposed to clue me in that he was talking about RPattz. Warn a girl when your mental train jumps the tracks for crying out loud!

He was embarrassed enough that I didn’t even bring up the fact that he had referred to Robert Pattinson simply as Rob AND expected me to follow along. Not as Your Rob. Not as Rob Pattinson. Not as RPattz. Not even as The Forehead, as he normally does. Just Rob. Anyone know how to spot a Unicorn in camouflage?

BTW, I’m glad you’re OK Rob! Both of you!

Hana has been coming up quite a bit in my Searches, so I thought maybe it was time to revisit this topic. Some time ago I posted about Hana Pestle and her Need (get it?) to find her way onto the New Moon soundtrack. She has a sort of Tori Amos/Alanis Morissette sort of sound. Her song is beautiful and fits New Moon perfectly. I still think it’s a great fit for the scene in the forest after Edward leaves, but others on Hana’s MySpace page proposed it for the “blank pages”. That’s a great idea! I could see a montage of Bella walking around like a zombie with this playing over it. It would really make the audience feel the emptiness of that period of Bella’s life.

Has anyone heard anything new about the soundtrack? I don’t see anything online, myself. Until we hear anything, there’s always SMeyer’s playlist.

After the news I posted last night, I needed a bit of cheering up. Boy did I get it! Thank you Aunt J! As I write this I still have goosebumps from Susan Boyle’s performance on Britain’s Got Talent. The tears have just now gone away. I love how she turns the audience around from the first note. In the first verse she is already getting a standing ovation. Wow! Good on ya, Susan!

Thanks, Aunt R for sending this to me. What a great video. And thanks ggdd727 for posting it on YouTube! Don’t you just love it when you go to the train station and a music video breaks out?

So, Elaine Cullen posted on my New Moon Wishlist that she would like to see Rick Mugrage get a song on the New Moon Soundtrack. She suggests Signs is the perfect choice, while I thought Medicate felt more New Moon-ish. What do you all think? If you like his stuff, let’s get some buzz going for Rick, so he gets his shot.
